Tea on Mars Films is an Estonian production company founded by Brazilian producer Malu Lins and Lebanese filmmaker Pedro Hasrouny. Working between Europe and the MENA region, it is drawn to stories of belonging and identity, where humour emerges as a response to the absurdity of the world.
The founders previously collaborated on projects presented at international festivals and now work together under Tea on Mars Films. The name “Tea on Mars” reflects a desire to preserve warmth and humanity in a world that often feels foreign, and an openness to the stories and confidences that emerge over a cup of tea.

Malu Lins (1997) is a producer from Paraíba, Brazil. Her work includes the award-winning short A Mother Goes to the Beach (2024), which screened at 50+ festivals, and 5 Minutes with Clémentina (2024), which premiered at Kino Forum São Paulo Short Film Festival. She is currently developing the feature film Bayt Rabab.
Malu holds a Master's degree in Film and Audiovisual Production through the Erasmus Mundus programme, studying across Universidade Lusófona, IADT, Baltic Film, Media and Arts School, and Edinburgh Napier University.
Alongside her work as a producer, she is a Project Manager at FIDA Estonia, where she contributes to European collaboration in film and media education. She is pursuing a PhD on the impact of AI in audiovisual production and mentors students in Pathfinder, the Joint International BA in Film programme.

Pedro Hasrouny (1995) is a film director and screenwriter from southern Lebanon, based between Lisbon and Beirut. He studied Audiovisual Arts at AKU Beirut before completing the Erasmus Mundus KinoEyes Master's in Film Directing, studying across Portugal, Estonia, Scotland, and Ireland.
Pedro is currently pursuing a PhD at FilmEU with a scholarship, researching Arab feminism and how Arabs have been imagined and represented on screen.
He is developing his first feature film, Bayt Rabab, with the support of the Doha Film Institute and TorinoFilmLab.
His short films include Autostrade Beirut (2021), which premiered at Raindance Film Festival and received a Jury Special Mention at the Cairo International Short Film Festival, and A Mother Goes to the Beach (2024), winner of Best Short Film at the Sophia Student Awards of the Portuguese Film Academy, and was screened at festivals internationally
Alongside filmmaking, Pedro works in photography and has completed commissions for Architectural Digest Middle East and Jdeed Magazine. He also studied Art Direction at UAL Central Saint Martins.
